The ski area Rosskopf / Monte Cavallo is situated only few minutes away from the historical towncentre of Sterzing / Vipiteno in South Tyrol. On the "sunny terrace" of Sterzing, visitors enjoy spectacular panoramic views that reach all the way to the Dolomites.

In winter, in addition to 20 km of sunny slopes for skiing, beautifull snowshoe hikes and long toboggan rides await you all winter long. The Rosskof run is Italy’s longest illuminated and artificial snow covered toboggan trail. Off the slopes you will find various idyllic cozy mountain huts and shelters with great culinary dishes, influenced by the Austrian and Italian cuisine.

In summer the Rosskopf offers a great pasture landscapes and beautiful hiking trails and a few adventurous attractions for all ages.

  Rosskopf Panorama Mountain Coaster
Type:
Length: 1.3 km
Difference in height: 273 m

A new highlight on the local mountain of Sterzing / Vipiteno! Starting from the mountain station of the panoramalift at 2,120 meters above sea level, a mountain coaster is being installed on the Rosskopf. The course leads over a length of 1,300 m over a height difference of nearly 300 meters to the valley station of the panoramalift. Sounds like heaps of fun? It definitely will be, because with a gradient of 20% on average and a maximum of 56%, speeds of up to 40 km/h can be reached. That means spectacular fun for the young and old, amidst the breath-taking mountain panorama.

The Rosskopf Sledging Trail at Sterzing is the longest floodlit winter sledging trail with artificial snow facility in Italy. It starts right by the Rosskopf cable car mountain station and runs for nearly 10 km round many twists and turns down to the valley station in Vipiteno/Sterzing where sledges can be hired.

Why not join a night-time sledging party on Tuesday or Friday evenings for a special experience on Vipiteno's local mountain. On these evenings the sledging trail is floodlit until midnight (cable car runs until 10 pm).
