There will also be widespread precipitation in the afternoon. The snow line will generally be at the bottom of the valley or temporarily rising to an altitude of 800/1000 m. Towards evening, with the arrival of the Föhn wind, the precipitation will cease, starting with the West. Only along the border ridge will snowfall continue throughout the night.

Weather in the mountains
A depression over the Mediterranean will bring wintry conditions.
Widespread snowfall, at times heavy. Between 10 and 20 cm of fresh snow is expected in the west, and between 20 and 30 cm in the east. In the evening, precipitation will cease over most of the territory, continuing only in the north until Friday.
Mountain weather tomorrow
During the day, the Alps will be affected by strong currents from the north.
There will initially be some residual snowfall on the border ridge, which will taper off during the day. Towards the south, the weather will be better with increasingly widespread clear spells.

Tomorrow, Saturday, thicker clouds will reappear, with the sun only making intermittent appearances in the south. Snow will begin to fall again on the alpine crest during the day, with precipitation spreading further south towards the evening, for example to the Puster Valley and the Dolomites. Snow level around 1200-1400 m. On Sunday, it will remain dry everywhere with a mixture of sun and clouds. The sun will also shine at least intermittently on Monday. Tuesday promises more sunshine.
